The child who was given a Grammy by Bad Bunny during the Super Bowl halftime show has gone viral, but it has been confirmed that he wasn’t Liam Conejo Ramos.

The Puerto Rican superstar headlined the Halftime Show for the mammoth sport event last night (Sunday February 8), and became the first Latin male artist and the first artist performing primarily in Spanish ever to take the prestigious slot.
He had previously delivered a guest appearance during Jennifer Lopez’s halftime show in 2020, and for his own performance, was joined by Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Jessica Alba and Karol G.
The performance came just one week after he was confirmed as one of the biggest winners of the night at the 2026 Grammys, and used his time on stage then to deliver a powerful message criticising ICE and pushing for more love and acceptance in the US.
In light of that, one of the most powerful moments of his Super Bowl performance came when he gifted his Grammy to a young boy during the show. He was seen kneeling down and rubbing the boys head, saying “Cree siempre en ti” (“always believe in yourself”).

Many watching at home were quick to suggest that the kid was Liam Conejo Ramos – the five-year-old who was detained alongside his father at their home last month by January 20. At the time, Ramos was wearing a blue bunny hat and carrying a Spider-Man rucksack, and went viral as a symbol of the harsh immigration crackdown led by Donald Trump.
He and his father were sent to a detention facility in Texas, and they later returned to Minnesota after a federal judge ordered their release last month.
While rumours quickly started to circulate that it was Ramos who appeared at the Halftime Show, these reports have now been officially shut down, with TMZ, People and more confirming that the kid in question was actually a child actor called Lincoln Fox Ramadan.
TMZ reported that a source told them that the gesture from Bad Bunny wasn’t as political as many thought, but rather was “to serve as an example for kids to dream as big as performing at the Super Bowl”.
A rep for Bad Bunny also dismissed the rumours to NPR Music, as did a spokesperson for the Conejo Ramos family.
Lincoln Fox then confirmed that it was him who appeared at the show and was given the award by the Puerto Rican star, taking to Instagram to describe it as his “truest honour”.
“I’ll remember this day forever!” he added, also sharing the hashtags “#youngbadbunny” and “#littlebadbunny”.the post on Lincoln’s Instagram page was captioned. The video was taken from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, and showed the moment when Bad Bunny handed the Grammy award to him.
With her guest appearance at Bad Bunny’s set last night, Lady Gaga performed a Latin version of her Bruno Mars collaboration ‘Die With A Smile’. Ricky Martin – who had said that he was touched by Bad Bunny’s wins at the Grammys just days before – was also on hand to introduce ‘El apagón’ with an excerpt of ‘LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii’.
As Bad Bunny left the field at the end of the show, he held up a football to the camera which read: “Together we are America”. The big screen behind him read: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love”.
The Super Bowl show for this year was shrouded in controversy ever since it was first announced in September. When Bad Bunny was confirmed, he came under personal attack from the MAGA movement, and Donald Trump called the decision to have him headline “crazy”, claiming that he had “never heard” of him.
One of the President’s advisors confirmed that ICE would be present at the performance – which carried added poignancy as Bad Bunny previously announced that he would not be touring the US due to fears over ICE agents raiding the concerts – and Turning Point USA held an ‘All American Halftime Show’ at the same time with Kid Rock headlining.
Donald Trump then went on to hit out at the performance again, branding it a “slap in the face” for America.
The post Boy who Bad Bunny gave his Grammy to at Super Bowl halftime show goes viral – but it wasn’t ICE detainee Liam Conejo Ramos appeared first on NME.
