Moten plays Maximus in the Amazon Prime Video adaptation of the hit video game series. The final episode of season two premieres tonight (February 3) but ahead of that, game developers Bethesda have shared a new video.
The Best Buddies advert sees Moten hanging out with Fallout mascot Vault Boy as they play Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout Shelter, Fallout 76 and Fallout 4. “Any time I need to get away, you’re there. Always down for an adventure in the Wasteland” Moten tells Vault Boy. “It really makes me appreciate you.”
For the next couple of days, Fallout 76 is currently free-to-play to celebrate the ‘Burning Springs’ update which introduces Walton Goggins’ The Ghoul to the video game series for the very first time. Elsewhere, Fallout Shelter has just launched its ‘The House Always Wins’ season, inspired by New Vegas.
However many fans are speculating that Bethesda could be about to surprise-release a remastered take on either Fallout 3 or New Vegas. A mysterious countdown on a dedicated Fallout website is set to end around the same time the final episode of Fallout season two airs, while backend changes have been made to their respective Steam pages.
Last year, Fallout boss Todd Howard promised the team were hard at work on “that thing you want.” In April, the studio shadow-dropped a remastered version of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. “It worked out well,” said Howard. “I like to just announce stuff and release it.
A third season of Fallout has already been confirmed. Filming will begin later this year with creators eager to release new episodes as quickly as possible. “I think what’s happened with television, in terms of taking longer and longer from season to season, is kind of an unfortunate trend,” executive producer Jonathon Nolan said recently. According to Moten, the plan is for Fallout to run for as many as six seasons. A Big Brother-inspired reality show spin-off is also in the works.
In other news, Lil Wayne is set to perform a virtual gig in mobile strategy game Clash Royale this week ahead of the Super Bowl.
