Here is the rundown.
Code Vein 2 does not have any kind of co-op or multiplayer features. It is completely absent from this game and it is a solo-only experience.
This will be quite disappointing to fans of the original who were looking to team up with a friend and hunt down Revenants together. Bandai Namco hasn’t issued any kind of statement or details on why co-op isn’t in Code Vein 2, but the team have opted for a more focused, narrative driven experience this time around and because of the choices you can make, co-op may have been difficult to facilitate.
The game has released to lacklustre reviews, currently sitting at a Metacritic score in the 70s. This is below the first game, which was also relatively low scoring.
“In a future world where humans and Revenants coexist… Due to the sudden appearance of the Luna Rapacis, Revenants have transformed into mindless monsters called Horrors. As a Revenant hunter, the player shall halt the world’s inevitable collapse by traveling to the past with a girl called Lou who possesses the power to manipulate time.
An epic adventure awaits, where you and your chosen partners explore a post-apocalyptic world, face fierce battles against powerful enemies, and uncover an epic story that transcends time.”
