Since it launched in 2024, Amazon’s live-action adaptation of hit video game Fallout has only been available to Prime subscribers. However, ahead of the season two finale next week, the first season has been uploaded to YouTube so people can watch it for free.

The Amazon Prime UK YouTube channel has the first two episodes – The End and The Target – available now. International channels have already uploaded the entire first season though, so it’s expected Prime Video UK will follow suit.

“Based on one of the greatest video games of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have,” reads the official description. “200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them above.”

“Watch the entire first season of Fallout now on YouTube and catch up on season two on Prime Video,” added Amazon.

Earlier this week, Amazon confirmed the season finale of Fallout season two would air early due to “strong participation and interest”. It’ll now be available to watch it from 2am GMT on Wednesday February 2.

A countdown on a behind-the-scenes website for Fallout is set to end at the same time the season two finale airs, with many fans speculating that a remake of Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas will be announced when it ends. Stoking the rumours, Fallout boss Todd Howard recently promised the team were hard at work on “that thing you want.”

A third season of Fallout has already been confirmed and filming will hopefully take place later this year, with creators eager to release new episodes as soon as possible. “I think what’s happened with television, in terms of taking longer and longer from season to season, is kind of an unfortunate trend,” executive producer Jonathon Nolan said in a recent interview. According to the show’s Aaron Moten, the plan is for Fallout to run for as many as six seasons.

In other news, Resident Evil Requiem launches next month and fans are very excited about the latest evolution of the long-running horror franchise after some early previews.
