Tom Cruise reportedly moves back to US after years living in UK

Tom Cruise has reportedly moved back to the US after years of living in the UK.

The Hollywood star had taken up residence across the pond from his native country in an expensive apartment in London’s Knightsbridge area, according to The Mail on Sunday.

However, the publication reports that people were seen moving possessions out of the property, with staff at the building surprised by the sudden move. No reason for the decision has been given.

Cruise has previously spoken about his love of the UK, saying in 2022 (via The Mirror): “I guess I am an Anglophile. I spend a lot of time in Britain and that’s not just for work reasons. I just love being here.”

“It’s a fantastic blend of old and new. I love seeing the sights, the Tower of London, Nelson’s Column, Buckingham Palace and all those fantastic places which are just full of history. Britain is trendy, too, and has a lot that other countries then copy. I also love the British countryside,” he added.

“Seeing cows and sheep in the fields here is just so very British and just like we see in the movies in America. I always wondered whether it is really like that. It’s great to go back to the US and say, ‘Yes, it really is’.”

In other news, the actor’s Mission: Impossible co-star Rebecca Ferguson recently revealed that she once called Cruise to request a helicopter when she was struck down by a stomach bug while in the Maldives.

“I called him once when I was in the Maldives when I had a really bad stomach,” she told The Independent. “I was like, ‘Can I get a helicopter?’ It was quite a funny thing.” When she thought about who could fly her out, her husband suggested Cruise.

Meanwhile, last year Cruise was awarded an Honorary Oscar, having never won a competitive gong, and spoke in his speech about his lifelong love of cinema and the people who had helped his career.
