On a chilly January evening, the historic Kings Theatre in Brooklyn transformed into a sanctuary of warmth and soaring vocals as ONEW, SHINee’s renowned leader, returned to New York for his “PERCENT (%)” tour on January 16, 2026. From the moment he stepped onto the stage in a crisp black suit, it was clear the audience was in for an evening of exceptional artistry, intimate connection, and pure, unadulterated joy.

The concert opened with the tour’s titular track, ‘PERCENT,’ a smooth and sophisticated number that perfectly set the tone. With nothing but a neon green standing microphone and his incandescent smile, ONEW commanded the spacious stage alone, proving that a true performer needs no elaborate gimmicks. His voice—powerful, nuanced, and effortlessly controlled—filled every corner of the grand venue, a testament to the confidence of an 18-year veteran who has mastered his craft.

“I will try to make you guys’ happiness go over 100%,” he promised early on, a vow he spent the next two hours spectacularly fulfilling. This personal touch defined the night, from singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to celebrating fans to later moments of shared serenades.

The setlist was a beautifully curated journey through his solo discography, showcasing its range and depth. It moved seamlessly from the driving energy of ‘No Parachute’ and the dreamy allure of ‘Yeowoobi’ to the emotive longing of ‘Far Away’ and the cozy charm of ‘Conversation.’ The crowd swayed to the groove of ‘All Day’ and was swept up in the theatrical grandeur of ‘MAESTRO.’

Particular highlights included a breathtaking, shortened a cappella rendition of ‘Always,’ which left the audience in awed silence, and a heartwarming moment during ‘Starry Night,’ where ONEW gently lowered his microphone, letting the fans’ voices rise to meet his in a beautiful, collective choir. The acoustic version of ‘Winner’ offered a raw and intimate perspective, while later performances of ‘MAD’ and ‘Caffeine’ brought a potent, rhythmic intensity.

The night’s most electrifying moment might have been ‘ANIMALS,’ where ONEW fully embodied the song’s spirit. He performed with unleashed, primal energy, as if, in his own words, “processed by the spirit of a majestic animal,” leaving the audience exhilarated.

For the encore, ONEW returned in a relaxed t-shirt and plaid pants, immediately creating a more casual, party-like atmosphere. He playfully engaged with the crowd, even throwing gift balls into the sea of fans. He joked that they said “아니” (ani / no) a lot. He said a tip is if you talk to someone in Korea and start the sentence with “아니,” they will think you are basically Korean. The encore kicked off with the sweet and playful ‘Oreo Cake,’ followed by the exuberant ‘Yay,’ and another heartfelt round of ‘Happy Birthday,’ wrapping the night in a blanket of pure, shared happiness.

ONEW THE LIVE: PERCENT (%) was more than a concert; it was a masterclass in vocal performance and genuine artist-audience connection. ONEW didn’t just sing to the New York crowd—he communicated, shared, and celebrated with them, ensuring that by the final note, everyone’s happiness meter was indeed filled well beyond 100%.
