The show follows Zara Dunne, an office worker at a London investment firm played by Sophie Turner. When a gang of violent intruders storm the office. Zara and her co-worker Luke (Archie Madekwe) are forced to execute a massive theft of billions of pounds from customers’ pension funds.
DCI Rhys Covac (Jacob Fortune-Lloyd) leads the investigation into who orchestrated the heist and why. Check out the trailer here:
The creator and principal writer of the series is Sotiris Nikias, who has a financial background of his own, and he has worked alongside co-writers Poppy Cogan and Shyam Popat.
All six episodes of the show are streaming on Amazon Prime Video as of Wednesday (January 21).
Turner is best known as Sansa Stark in Game Of Thrones, while Madekwe gained attention in Saltburn and Gran Turismo, while Fortune-Lloyd is known for Bodies and The Queen’s Gambit.
NME has given the show a four-star review, writing: “Steal is your first binge watch of 2026. Created and written by Sotiris Nikias, this Prime Video high-finance heist thriller set in the heart of London’s City is like a mix of Wall Street and Heat. Or Industry meets Line Of Duty, for a more British comparison.”
