Oscars 2026 nominations – rolling list

The nominations for this year’s Academy Awards, aka The Oscars, are being announced today (January 22).

The contenders for the 2026 ceremony are due to be confirmed at 1.30pm GMT (8.30am ET/5.30am PT). The nominations can be streamed live below.

Hollywood’s biggest night will be broadcast live on March 15, on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK from 11pm GMT, and ABC in the US from 7:00pm ET/4:00pm PT. Recently, it was announced that The Oscars would have a new home from 2029, streaming worldwide on YouTube.

The ceremony is the pinnacle of the 2026 awards season, celebrating the best of the year in cinema. This year’s Oscars will be hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien, returning after his successful debut last year.

Notable this year is the addition of a new category, Best Casting, which recognises achievements of casting directors. A new stunt design category is planned for the 100th Oscars in 2028.

The 2025 Academy Awards saw big victories for Anora with five awards, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Mikey Madison. Other notable winners were The Brutalist with three awards, while Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, and Wicked won two awards each.

Outside of the awards, one of the highlights was an appearance by Adam Sandler, who performed a skit with host O’Brien which parodied his reputation for always wearing casual clothes. Viewers loved the moment, describing the actor as “the GOAT of comedy” on social media.
