The Scottish band have just wrapped up the first leg of their 2026 ‘Futique’ tour, having kicked off the first dates in Belfast earlier this month.

Now, the trio have unveiled a giant headline slot at this year’s Edinburgh Summer Sessions, which will follow their biggest gig ever at London’s Finsbury Park in July.

Biffy Clyro’s Edinburgh Summer Sessions show will take place on Friday August 21 at the Royal Highland Showgrounds, with Nothing But Thieves and Swim School joining them as support acts.

Speaking about the upcoming show, the band said: “Edinburgh, we’re coming for you… this is going to be huge, see you in August”.

Pre-sale for the Edinburgh Summer Sessions show will commence from 10am GMT next Thursday (January 29) for fans who have signed up to the Summer Sessions database. General sale will follow at the same time on Friday (January 30) – buy your tickets here.

NME spoke to the trio about their upcoming Finsbury Park show, which will see them play to over 40,000 fans – the biggest headline show they’ve ever performed.

Frontman Simon Neil told us that the gig was “one of the most important shows of our career,” adding: “This is milestone shit. There are very few times in your life when you know you’re about to do something important. This is one of those occasions. There have been some great shows that happen at Finsbury Park, and we want this to be the one that defines the summer.

“That sounds naive, as we’ve been around for a while, but it’s going to be magic and unforgettable.”

Alongside their Edinburgh show, Biffy Clyro are scheduled to play a handful of other festivals this year. They’re due to appear at Hungary’s Sziget 2026 alongside Florence + The MachineLewis CapaldiSOMBR and Twenty One Pilots.

Biffy Clyro will also make a headline stop at Kendal Calling 2026 and Noches del Botánico in Madrid.

Bassist James Johnston will sit out of all upcoming shows to address “mental health problems which have led to addiction issues”, adding that he was “heartbroken” to not take part in their tour.

Naomi Macleod will fill in for Johnston, having played bass with frontman Simon Neil’s side-project Empire State Bastard alongside her own band Bitch Falcon.

Elsewhere, Biffy Clyro have postponed their US tour last minute thanks to “some fucking genius” making a visa admin error: “Thanks for your time and sorry for fucking wasting it”.
