The new project will follow on the heels of her 2024 album ‘Megan‘, and the follow-up ‘Megan: Act II’, which dropped later that year in a surprise release, and the rapper has already shared some singles since that last LP: ‘Whatever’ and ‘Lover Girl’.
The former arrived last April after Megan’s slot at Coachella, and the latter arrived in October and brought rap back to the US top 40 following a two-week absence (the first time the genre hadn’t featured on the chart since 1990).
Both songs are expected to feature on ‘Megan: Act III’, and while little is known about the upcoming album, the ‘Hiss’ rapper did share last year that she would love to collaborate with Doechii for the LP.
Now, in a new interview, Megan has revealed more details about the record and said that she is going to be releasing more new music later this year. She shared the update in a new interview with People, and opened up about her newfound love of the gym and her upcoming plans.
“I’m definitely in the studio. I’m kind of hiding from everybody right now because I really just want to work,” she told the outlet.
“I’m completing act three and the music is dropping this year,” she added. “The hotties just need to give me a little time. I’ll be in the gym and the studio — the gym and the studio.”
That interview also saw her define her energy going into 2026 as “disciplined”, and reveal why she wanted to team up with Dunkin’ to help promote a new range of Protein Milk and Protein Refreshers.
“When I started my health and fitness journey, I just dove in. I didn’t really know too much about the nutrition side of it,” she said, adding why she thought the collaboration would work. “But once I started figuring out, ‘OK girl, if you really want to see some results, you need to be eating and drinking some protein,’ everything clicked.”
She also added that the fitness journey began as she “wanted to release emotions”, and saw it as a good way to look after her mental health.
“If your reason is because you’re having a bad day and you need to release that energy, that’s valid. I hope you’re doing it for you and not for anybody else to give you approval,” she explained.
Part One of the ‘Megan‘ trilogy was given a four-star review by NME, which described it as “herald[ing] a fearless new era for Megan Thee Stallion.”
The follow-up LP was given a glowing five-star review, and NME wrote: “Megan confirms why she’s “the baddest bitch out right now” once again. Despite all the adversity that has plagued her in recent years, she firmly stands atop the rap world as the princess of rap, gazing down from her pedestal while polishing her tiara – maybe there’s a coronation on the horizon very soon.”
