Per Variety, the rapper was initially announced as a producer on the project and would also be contributing to its soundtrack. On Friday (January 16), Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) revealed that Snoop would also appear onscreen.

“He’s been wanting to do Death Row Films for a long time,” Roth told the publication. “I said we need to make the ultimate haunted house movie, like the craziest one, something that mixes House, House by the Cemetery, Hausu and Friday the 13th, like something so insane people can’t believe it exists.”

“And we’d have to call it, Don’t Go in That House, Bitch!” Roth continued. “And he’s going to star in it.” Roth went on to unveil a few details about the film, which is expected to start filming over the summer. Summing it up, Roth said: “People keep going in the house. People don’t listen.

“What are you doing, bitch? Don’t go in that house.” You can watch the spoof trailer Roth released last August below.

“People just keep going in. Like, what are you doing? You’re not going to come out of there. Don’t do it. Turn around. Leave! It’s basically everything that we yell at the screen during horror movies. You put those as characters in the movie like a Greek chorus.”

Snoop won’t just take part in this Roth film, but is also set to contribute to his next one, Ice Cream Man. “He sent me some score — not hip-hop, but actual score,” said Roth. “I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is incredible.’ So we have a whole section of the movie that’s completely scored by Snoop.”

Snoop and Roth previously collaborated on the video for the rapper’s 2012 track ‘La La La’.

NME sat down with Roth back in 2010, around the time he was producing horror hit The Last Exorcism. In that interview, he shed light on why the genre thrives on a low budget, saying: ““A scare is a scare is a scare. The scare is the star.”

Paranormal Activity and Blair Witch proved that,” he continued. “Once you start spending more money you get into focus groups and testing and what was fun about The Last Exorcism was we knew the ending would divide people. I like a movie that gives you questions and you want to watch again and rethink from a totally different point of view.

We also spoke to him about working with Wu Tang Clan’s RZA, who he collaborated with on The Man with the Iron Fists. “It’s a spaghetti Western. It’s a full Kung Fu movie. RZA really loves his Kung Fu, the way I love horror. He wants to switch up the choreographers as he makes the movie so that we don’t get what we call ‘Fight Fatigue’.”
