Online role-playing game RuneScape originally launched in January 2001 before the upgraded Runescape 2 was released in 2004. RuneScape 3 followed in 2013 alongside Old School RuneScape.
Developers Jagex will be celebrating the long-running game’s 25th anniversary throughout 2026 and they’re kicking things off with the vinyl collection ‘RuneScape: 25 Years’.
The 5LP vinyl box set includes 50 iconic songs spanning the entire history of the multiplayer game. It features tracks from the original score alongside orchestral reimaginings performed by the prestigious Philharmonia Orchestra. “From its earliest, indelible MIDI-based themes to the instrumentally richer, more expansive compositions of later years, these tracks have accompanied players’ first logins, early quests, countless voyages from Port Sarim to Karamja, and victories over some of the game’s toughest bosses,” reads a press release.
“Music is one of the ways we connect to players on an emotional level and it elevates the gaming experience,” said Grace Docksey, Jagex’s lead audio designer. “This collection represents some of RuneScape‘s most iconic music from over the last 25 years, as well as a few of our personal favourites. We hope listeners enjoy our musical journey through RuneScape’s history, whether they have just joined us or have been with us since the start.”

The set comes inside a metallic black collector’s box with gold foiling alongside printed inner sleeves with full-wrap artwork from Jagex and superfan artist Enkoro which detail epic boss fights and ancient maps of in-game world Gielinor. Both the standard and an exclusive “Gilded Gold” version are available to pre-order now. The album will also be getting a digital release.
