The legendary C-Series compilation was relaunched in March 2023 thanks to a new partnership between NME and Bose. ‘C23′ featured brilliant tracks from artists such as King Princess, Genesis Owusu and 070 Shake while last summer’s ‘C24’ mixtape boasted a stacked line-up including rugged soulmaster Teddy Swims, jazz-loving singer-songwriter Laufey, London-based musician Artemas and more. Released earlier this year, the ‘Bose x NME: C25’ mixtape spotlights the next generation of music talent from around the world.

The eight-track mixtape features Parcels’ chilled-out  ‘Summerinlove’, Zimmer90’s dreamy ‘what a life’ and Alex Warren’s gorgeous orchestral reworking of his hit single ‘Eternity’.

There’s also ZIN CHOI’s swaggering bedroom-pop banger ‘microGiant’, ‘Will We Ever Wake Up’ from rave king Cloonee and Diplo’s remix of buzzy Korean co-ed group ALLDAY PROJECT’s ‘WICKED’. A live version of CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso’s energetic ‘EL DÍA DEL AMIGO’ and LANA’s sleek ‘Icy Tale’ completes ‘C25’.

After launching on streaming in September, ‘Bose X NME: C25’ is now getting a limited-edition physical release. NME readers are now able to grab one of 150 vinyl and tape editions of the mixtape for free at Dawsons music shop on Denmark Street in London (while stocks last).

“[Physical media] sounds so beautiful. It’s just so warm and real. I think you feel it more. It draws you in, in a different way” Parcels’ Jules Crommelin told NME recently. “You also have to commit to listening to a full body of music, which I don’t think we get much of a chance to do these days,” added bandmate Louie Swain.

“I think it’s important to listen to music in different formats,” said Alex Warren. “Whether it’s on a different speaker or on cassette or vinyl, you hear different things that you didn’t hear the first time.”

The ‘C25’ campaign is also helping fans to experience music in a more 360-degree way with the On Tape music video performance series and two social franchises rooted in the beauty of physical music media: Cassette Confessions and Play The Tape.
