Cristiano Ronaldo has a part in final ‘Fast & Furious’ film, says Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo will have a role in the final Fast & Furious film.

The franchise is gearing up for the planned 11th entry, with Diesel taking to his Instagram to tease an appearance from the Portuguese footballer.

Sharing a picture with Ronaldo, the star wrote: “Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him… @cristiano.”

It comes after reports that the fate of the next Fast & Furious film is up in the air, with the Wall Street Journal claiming there is no completed script and that studio Universal wants a smaller budget. As such, ideas being floated around include reduced or cut roles, and a local setting, which would fit with Diesel’s previous claims of a Los Angeles return.

The actor recently responded to speculation about the film’s potential cancellation in a series of cryptic posts with fellow star Michelle Rodriguez.

“I have often said… Creativity is the key to all things. When you maintain the integrity, the rest follows. #happycreativesunday,” he shared in one.

In another post the previous month, he recalled discussing the “journey” with Rodriguez, further touching upon “corporate structures and development cycles” and the “unbreakable” bond that “transcends business decisions and bottom lines”.

He further teased that “what we’re building next is going to honor all that you love about Fast while taking you somewhere you’ve never been before”.

Earlier this year, Diesel also teased the return of the late Paul Walker’s character Brian O’Conner, while also hinting at an April 2027 release date for the film.

It is also unclear whether Dwayne Johnson will be back amid his feud with Diesel. The star did have a cameo in 2023’s Fast X as Luke Hobbs, and it appeared in that year that they had put the tension behind them, though a seemingly frosty greeting between the pair at this year’s Golden Globes reignited rumours of a feud.
