The British YouTuber and Kick streamer was livestreaming from a lounge at Heathrow Airport when Ringo and his wife, Barbara Bach, walked in. Although he was wearing a mask, viewers spotted the Beatles legend almost immediately.
After asking Matthews whether or not he was “on the radio,” Matthews asked him where he was from, to which the drummer replied, “I’m from Liverpool”. He later quipped that they “must be brothers” when social media personality Matthews said he had just come from Manchester.
Starr’s wife Bach noticed Matthews seemed under the weather and asked him if he was feeling ill. After Matthews confirmed he was, Starr and his team left the room. With Ringo gone, Matthews told his livestream chat – who had consistently tried to tell him the man was “Beatle Ringo” – that he still didn’t know who the man was.
“His wife looked pretty classy, so he must be pretty high-value,” he said. “Beatle Ringo? Who is that? Who the fuck is Beatle Ringo?… Is he on one of them statues from Liverpool?”
He then looked up some Beatles history, which was handy, given they were later sat next to each other on their flight.

Harrison Dickinson and Paul Mescal will play Lennon and McCartney respectively, while Joseph Quinn is taking on the role of George Harrison. The respective partners have also been cast, with Mia McKenna-Bruce (How To Have Sex) set to play Ringo’s wife Maureen Starkey.
In July, it was reported that Ringo had met Mendes and asked him to change parts of the scripts of the films, offering “extensive notes”, saying the original screenplay “had nothing to do with Maureen and I”.
