The film is the latest from veteran Hollywood director James L. Brooks, known for Terms Of Endearment, Broadcast News and As Good As It Gets, as well as co-creating The Simpsons.
It stars Sex Education’s Emma Mackey as the titular character, an idealistic 34-year-old politician who takes on the role of state governor when her mentor is drafted into the incoming Obama administration.
Jamie Lee Curtis plays Ella’s Aunt Helen and Jack Lowden is her husband Ryan, while Kumail Nanjiani, Ayo Edebiri, Julie Kavner, Rebecca Hall, Albert Brooks and Woody Harrelson all co-star.
