Fallout season two is set to launch later this month on Amazon Prime Video. The series will “pick up in the aftermath of season one’s epic finale and take audiences along for a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas”.
Ella Purnell (Lucy) has described the upcoming season as a “buddy road trip” with Lucy and The Ghoul “trying to influence one another”.
Before that though, Prime Video has shared a Fallout Christmas special. “This ain’t your daddy’s holiday special,” reads the announcement. “Join The Ghoul, a special guest and a burning arm for the most festive 90 minutes of your life. And no, this isn’t Fallout season two yet… consider it a meaty appetizer.”
The video sees The Ghoul and fan-favourite Dogmeat sitting around a roaring fire. “This ain’t no Whoville but it’ll do,” the bounty hunter tells his faithful companion. “I got enough vials to last me 12 days of Christmas,” he continues before pointing out the “fat man’s” human arm that’s roasting in the fire. “I keep a few of these arms dry aging throughout the year just because it’s so nice in the winter. Stay armed, stay warmed – that’s what I always say,” he adds. Viewers can then watch the fire slowly burn as Christmas carols play via the radio.
The Ghoul Log also features a cameo from Mr New Vegas, who was first introduced in Fallout: New Vegas. Not that Goggins would know. Earlier this week, he revealed he has “no interest” in ever playing the hit video game series that inspired Fallout. “I’d be looking at this world from a very different perspective,” he explained.
Fallout season two premieres December 17 with episodes weekly after that. It’s been reported that season three of Fallout will begin filming next year with creators eager to release new episodes as quickly as possible. “I think what’s happened with television, in terms of taking longer and longer from season to season, is kind of an unfortunate trend,” executive producer Jonathon Nolan told IGN.
According to the show’s Aaron Moten, the plan is for Fallout to run for as many as six seasons.
In other news, the future of Hogwarts Legacy and other Warner Bros. Games titles are in doubt following Netflix’s $82.7billion bid for Warner Bros Discovery.
