MIAMI (December 11, 2025) Alejandro Sanz, one of the most influential figures in Spanish-language music worldwide, becomes the narrator of his own life for the first time with Cuando Nadie Me Ve, the original documentary series from Sony Music Vision premiering January 27 on Movistar Plus+ in Spain.

For the first time, the Spanish artist tells his story in his own voice on screen, revisiting his journey from a deeply personal place. From his childhood in Algeciras to becoming a global cultural reference, the series traces his artistic, emotional, and personal evolution, drawing a line through his flamenco roots, his breakthrough in the music industry, his historic tours, and the private moments he had never shared with the public.

Filmed during a period of profound creative and personal transformation for Sanz, Cuando Nadie Me Ve, includes more than 200 hours of footage, never-before-seen family archive material, and exclusive interviews with artists close to him, including Rosalía, Shakira, Luis Fonsi, Juanes, Laura Pausini, Juan Luis Guerra, and Nathy Peluso, among others.

The docuseries is directed by Álvaro Ron, a filmmaker with extensive international experience whose credits include Superman & Lois, Sweetbitter, Hernán, and Locked Up Abroad. His approach blends observational storytelling, intimacy, and cinematic language, allowing Sanz’s voice to guide the narrative.

“What is it inside some people that pushes them to write songs or paint? What void do they need to fill that drives them to create…? Who knows? Alejandro Sanz, the most recognized Spanish pop artist of all time, admits that he expresses his feelings better through his music than through speaking. Maybe that’s what has always intrigued me about a legend who has given thousands of interviews throughout his career, yet has barely spoken about his personal life — his successes, his mistakes, his doubts, his struggles, his family, his loves… His discography is his best autobiography; all his songs are a piece of his private life. That’s why, on the day we met, we made a pact: I proposed creating a cubist portrait of his story through his songs, and he agreed to share intimate moments of his life that help us understand the person behind the artist — that part of Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro when he closes himself off behind open doors… when no one sees him,” said Álvaro Ron.

“I’m really excited to wrap up this project with Movistar Plus+ and under the direction of Álvaro Ron. It’s been an emotional journey — sometimes fun, sometimes tough. But what are we, if not light and darkness? I hope you enjoy it,” said Alejandro Sanz.

“For Sony Music Vision, taking on the production of ‘Cuando nadie me ve’ has been both a tremendous responsibility and a privilege: telling the life and essence of one of the greatest Spanish-language musical artists of all time. My deepest gratitude to Alejandro Sanz for his immense generosity in opening the doors of his life to us and allowing us to show his most authentic side. This production also reflects the importance of our strategic collaboration with Movistar Plus+ in this new phase, joining forces to create content that transcends music and connects with universal stories,” said Executive producer Sergi Reitg, Vice President of Premium Content for Sony Music Vision Latin Iberia.

“At Movistar Plus+ we feel a true passion—almost an obsession—for Spanish and Spanish-language music. ‘Cuando nadie me ve’ is a song about the difficulty of being oneself away from others’ eyes. This documentary series with the same title opens that narrow crack for us; it reveals how an artistic identity is forged, and helps us understand the personal journey that supports it. When Alejandro Sanz opened his door to us, we did a thousand somersaults,”  adds Jorge Ortiz de Landázuri, executive producer and Head of Non-Fiction Originals at Movistar Plus+.

The docuseries looks back while also connecting with Sanz’s present and artistic future, capturing a new chapter marked by introspection, clarity, and creative momentum. The artist is currently in the middle of his tour, ¿Y Ahora Qué?, inspired by the EP of the same name and the LP ¿Y AHORA QUÉ +?

Blending heartfelt ballads with contemporary pop and flamenco rhythms, this album marks a bold new chapter for Alejandro Sanz. Collaborating with acclaimed breakout producers and songwriters like Elena Rose, Casta, Spreadlove, Andy Clay, Edgar Barrera, and Rayito, he delivers a fresh, dynamic sound recorded between Madrid and Miami fusing influences and energies that redefine his musical universe.

The legendary Spanish singer-songwriter recently took home his eighth Latin Grammy for Record of the Year, with “Palmeras en el jardín”, making him the artist with the most career wins in the category, previously awarded in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2019, and 2020. He also won Best Contemporary Pop Album, bringing his career total to 24 Latin Grammy and 4 Grammy Awards.
