A new report has discovered the most foul-mouthed gaming communities on Reddit.

The data has been collected by Streamproject DE, who looked at the use of bad language across gaming subreddits over a two-week period. They tracked how frequently players used curse words such as shit, fuck, ass, moron, stupid and damn. “The goal: identify which game communities let the most frustration slip into their conversations,” explains a press release.
Topping the table was the recently-released Arc Raiders, with 1447 curse words. “Even before the game’s full launch, the difficulty spikes and hype-fueled debates seem to have players letting off plenty of steam,” explained Streamproject.
Dota 2 “continues to live up to its reputation for intensity” with the second-most foul-mouthed fandom while Baldur’s Gate 3 was third. Rounding out the top five are NBA 2K26 and The Outer Worlds 2. However, just 150 swear words separate the top twenty games. You can check out the full list below:

Earlier this year, a report claimed that the average gamer was a 41-year-old male, playing on mobile. The Power Of Play report also found a near-equal gender split between video game fans, with 48 per cent female and 51 per cent of responders male. The favourite genre for male gamers is action (53 per cent) while 62 per cent of female gamers prefer puzzlers.
Another report found that more children in the US want in-game currency than a new game or console this Christmas.
