The Game Awards take place December 11 and will celebrate the best of 2025’s video games. The ceremony will also feature a live performance from Evanescence alongside a string of news announcements.

To get people excited, The Game Awards have shared a new hype trailer featuring this year’s nominees, soundtracked by a new version of Sleep Token’s hit ‘Rain’ from 2023’s ‘Take Me Back To Eden’. Check it out below:

“I edited this year’s nominees trailer as a personal reflection on rebirth, renewal, and finding hope. I hope you enjoy,” wrote The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley on X. “On the surface, it’s just a reel of cinematic moments from the nominees — but to me, it represents something deeper. Building this trailer helps me discover the emotional core of the show. It’s easy to look at TGA as a giant marketing event, but the reason this night resonates is because it means something to all of us. These trailers are my way of expressing that,” he continued on Facebook.

“Every year I agonize over which song to use. I create playlists, audition tracks during morning runs, and think about how lyrics and energy might illuminate the themes of the year’s games. This year, I chose ‘Rain’ by Sleep Token – an extraordinary song about pain, rebirth, and catharsis. It reflected not just the journeys inside this year’s nominees, but a personal journey for me as well after losing my Dad a few months ago,” he explained. “A small note you might not know: when Sleep Token performs ‘Rain’ live, Vessel often begins with chords from the Halo 3 theme – a beautiful, unexpected connection.”

Now Sleep Token fans want the cinematic remix of ‘Rain’ to be released on streaming.

“Didn’t realise I needed a cinematic version of Rain, but I’m here for it,” wrote one fan. “RIGHT?!? Need the full thing on Spotify like yesterday,” added another. “I’m so thrilled for them. The boys are such gamers that this has to be absolutely wild to them,” said a third.

I’m not even joking, I need this version of the song on streaming ASAP https://t.co/b1pe9cIVhF

Some fans are speculating that the band might appear during The Game Awards to perform ‘Rain’ live while others want them to score an entire video game.

Last year, Sleep Token’s vocalist Vessel went viral for playing a Nintendo Switch during their massive headline show at London’s O2 Arena.

In other news, Final Fantasy 14’s next raid will be soundtracked by a collab between Rage Against The Machine legend Tom Morello and Beartooth vocalist Caleb Shomo.
