Folk-punk firebrands Violent Femmes are hitting the road once more, bringing their fiery acoustic guitars, razor-edge lyrics, and unruly charm to stages across North America this Fall. Born out of Milwaukee’s scrappy underground in 1981, the Femmes quickly ascended from coffee-shop provocateurs to alt-rock royalty, propelled by their unforgettable 1983 debut. This seminal record, bursting with youthful irreverence and raw honesty, gifted the world instant classics like Blister in the Sun, Add It Up, and Gone Daddy Gone.
The Femmes’ 2025 tour itinerary kicks off in July, with a rousing start at Montreal’s renowned Festival International De Jazz, followed swiftly by Calgary, before a high-energy pairing with emo icons My Chemical Romance in Seattle. The Femmes then glide through Napa’s sunlit vineyards before recharging for a lively autumn run along the East Coast, lighting up stages in Wilmington, Port Chester, Baltimore, and Red Bank.
The excitement continues unabated through Portland, Medford, Providence, and Burlington, setting each venue alight with uncontainable joy. Pennsylvania fans in Reading and Pittsburgh, alongside audiences in Fort Wayne and Chicago, are promised spirited shows. The Femmes then fittingly wrap things up in their beloved Milwaukee, marking a spirited homecoming. Femmes shows are always a blast, so grab your dancing shoes and go wild, like a blister in the sun.
