For Your Viewing Pleasure: Gothic Grunge

Welcome back to another instalment of For Your Viewing Pleasure, where we take time out of the week to curate a set of photos from the K-pop landscape.

The 90s era is officially in style, with baggy jeans and choker necklaces making a comeback on the catwalk. This week, our favourite idols model a dark twist on the trend, combining gothic colour schemes with tough fabrics like denim and leather to redefine that rebel without a cause aesthetic. While Seventeen’s Hoshi and Woozi wear stonewashed denim and metallic hardware, Kwon Eun-bi and Mamamoo’s Solar experiment with statement necklaces and nail art. As Choerry of Artms opts for a chic leather ensemble, Youngjae of TWS and TXT’s Beomgyu pose with skateboards and guitars to capture the indie-kid vibe. A special mention must go to Exo’s Kai, who pairs a distressed t-shirt with dark denim and a rugged backdrop. Flick through these photos to find your favourite.
