Over the weekend on April 13, BLACKPINK’s Jennie made her solo Coachella debut at the Outdoor Theater. During her set, the K-pop star performed a number of tracks off her recently released solo record, ‘Ruby’, as well as her older singles ‘Solo’ and ‘You And Me’.

Most notably, Jennie surprised the crowd when she brought out singer Kali Uchis for the song ‘Damn Right’, also a cut from ‘Ruby’. The studio version of the song is a collaboration with Uchis, as well as rapper Childish Gambino, who did not make an appearance during the set.

Jennie’s solo set at Coachella 2025 marks the second time she has performed at the iconic music festival. In 2023, Jennie and her BLACKPINK bandmates headlined the festival, making history as the first K-pop group to do so.

Earlier this year, NME‘s Crystal Bell gave Jennie’s ‘Ruby’ a glowing four-star review, saying: “She asserts herself not just as a global star, but as a fully realised artist, shaping her sound and vision with an intentionality that signals real growth.”

The record marked Jennie’s first body of work under her own label, Odd Atelier, under a partnership deal with Columbia Records. She started the company in late-2023, shortly after YG Entertainment announced that Jennie and her BLACKPINK bandmates would not be renewing their solo contracts with the company.
