Italy’s God In A Black Suit bursts back into view with A New Life, the fierce first single off their forthcoming record, Thresholds. A New Life by God in a Black Suit
Early in 2020, from Matera emerged a quintet: Annalisa Laterza’s bass murmuring beneath Bruno Pantone’s shimmering guitar, drummer Gianluca Natrella driving rhythms, vocalist Matteo Demma’s raw, resonant voice, and Pietro De Ruggieri’s spectral synths shaping new forms. Their debut EP, Nails, appeared in 2021, sparked by the single You Don’t Have Time. Proudly poised between post-punk’s nocturnal heartbeats, darkwave’s delicate drift, shoegaze’s soaring elegance, and Krautrock’s hypnotic pulse, God In A Black Suit reveals subtle beauty and depth. This band summons sounds both shadowed and luminous, daring listeners to surrender to their swirling embrace.
