It marks the band’s first new material since they took a year-long break following the release of their 2023 album ‘A Fistful of Peaches’ and the follow-up single ‘Lemonade’.

Fusing dark pop elements with touches of creepy rock, the track sees them delve into the dark realities of modern life.

“Psycho is a nonsensical, down the rabbit hole feeling of being a voyeur in something that feels really surreal,” vocalist Izzy B. Phillips explains. “It’s about wondering if this life is ‘the movie’ maybe it’s written badly. A bit of nihilism and escape with a bigger look at the mundane, the psychotic and the existential.”

It comes alongside a Clockwork Orange-inspired video directed by Harv Frost, that follows Phillips as she’s trapped in a dystopian facility as her bandmates strap her into a chair and is force-feed her fabricated experiences until she becomes numb. Check it out below.

Alongside the new single, Black Honey have announced a string of UK shows for April to mark their return to the stage. They’ll kick things off on April 15 at Manchester’s Night & Day, before heading to Brighton’s Pattern and London’s Omeara.

Tickets are available via a private ballot system. You can sign up here for a chance to access them when they go on sale.

It’s not yet clear if the single comes from an upcoming album, but the band shared on Instagram that they’ll be playing “some new stuff” at the upcoming live shows.

Black Honey’s 2025 shows are:

APRIL
15 – Manchester, Night & Day
16 – Brighton, Pattern
17 – London, Omeara

NME caught them live in Kingston in 2021 and gave the show a glowing four-star review, describing the gig as “loud and raucous, and despite all the safety precautions, it feels dangerous.”

It went on to say: “Black Honey look like a band unleashed. Philips fights back tears before the ferocious close of ‘Run For Cover’ and, true to form, her microphone breaks in the middle of the song. Clearly expecting the worst, she doesn’t skip a beat and finds a spare. Turns out you really can’t keep a great band down.”
