Chino Moreno and co. were playing at the Bridgestone Arena in the Tennessee city as part of their current North American tour with The Mars Volta. They played a 20-song set, including a three-track encore.

For the encore opener ‘Minerva’ – from Deftones’ self-titled 2003 fourth album – the band welcomed Williams to the stage for a live collaboration. The team-up came ahead of performances of ‘Bored’ and ‘7 Words’, which closed the gig (via Setlist.FM).

Williams previously performed with Deftones in 2010, when they delivered a joint rendition of ‘Passenger’ from the band’s 1999 album ‘White Pony’.

Deftones’ 2025 North American tour is due to resume in Indianapolis tomorrow (March 28) ahead of stops in Columbus, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Boston and Newark.

This summer, they’ll head to the UK and Europe for numerous festival appearances, including Glastonbury 2025, Primavera Sound Porto, Best Kept Secret and Hurricane Festival.

Deftones will also play their own headline show at The Piece Hall in Halifax and perform as part of the 2025 Eden Sessions at the Eden Project in Cornwall. Additionally, they’re scheduled for a huge bill-topping gig at London’s Crystal Palace Park with Weezer supporting. Find any remaining tickets here.

In September 2023, Deftones teased an upcoming full-length album – potentially slated for a 2024 release – which would follow on from 2020’s ‘Ohms’. Guitarist Stephen Carpenter said at the time that the band were “starting to work on new material for a new record”.

Last April, Deftones gave fans an update on the upcoming LP. “[We] have a whole record recorded all musically,” explained Moreno. “And it’s pretty much my job right now to finish up the vocals.”

But the singer said he didn’t want to “put a definite timeframe” on the album’s release, adding: “We’re not really in a rush. We want it to be great. I think that’s most important. But it is coming, and, yeah – it’s really good.”

Meanwhile, Moreno told autograph hunters he’s “not signing shit no more” after signing multiple albums per person while out and about recently.
