One of Assassin’s Creed Shadows‘ main features is the ability to play across four different seasons, which affect gameplay, traversal and more. But it isn’t entirely clear how you can change those seasons to force refreshes of Scouts, Contracts and more.

‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ how to change seasons
To change season in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you need to wait up to 3 hours in-game for the season to change naturally. You can also manually change season with the d-pad/H key if you have met the almost full threshold on the season passage tracker.

If you are close to a season refresh and you fast travel to The Hideout, the game should automatically refresh the season, updating Scouts, contracts, enemy placements, and resources. Seasons only change when fast travelling or completing a mission, so if you like a season’s looks or how it plays, you can stay in it, provided you don’t complete a mission or side quest or fast travel anywhere.
‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ changing seasons is currently unavailable, explained
If you get an error message that says changing seasons is unavailable, it means you can’t change season yet, and you will need to wait more time in-game naturally. This can happen for a multitude of reasons.
It is slightly annoying that you can’t just change seasons whenever you like, but at least the meter shows you how close you are to that season refresh.
