Taylor Swift once asked The Temper Trap to handwrite the lyrics to one of their biggest hits for Harry Styles‘ birthday.

Speaking in a recent TikTok post, the band recalled the moment Swift made the request at the Aria Awards during the period she was dating Styles from 2012 to 2013.
The band learned of Styles’ love for their music after he got a tattoo of their lyrics from their debut single ‘Sweet Disposition’.
“I think [Styles] tweeted that he got it, so then, you know, it was brought to our attention,” lead singer Dougy Mandagi said before pointing out that Styles, who was in One Direction at the time, got the lyrics wrong on his tattoo.

On the original song the lyrics read: “Won’t stop ’til it’s over / Won’t stop to surrender,” but Styles had the words scribed, “Won’t stop ‘til we surrender” instead.
“We were laughing about how he was wrong and then fast forward in the future we were at the Arias and Taylor Swift was a presenter or something,” Mandagi continued.
“She came to our green room with a piece of paper. She goes, ‘Can you write the lyrics for my boyfriend, it’s his birthday? I was like, ‘OK cool’. So then the dilemma was do I write the right lyrics or do I write the wrong lyrics?” he laughed. “I can’t remember which one I wrote.”
Meanwhile, Swift was recently nominated for two BRIT Awards including International Artist Of The Year alongside the likes of Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter.
This year’s awards will take place at The O2 in London on Saturday March 1, and broadcast exclusively on ITV1 and ITVX. Comedian and actor Jack Whitehall has been announced as the returning host, making it his fifth time presenting the ceremony after doing so in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Elsewhere, former Little Mix singer JADE recently recalled the time Styles “ignored” her after the pair went on a first date as teenagers.
