Viagra Boys have announced their fourth studio album – listen to new single ‘Man Made Of Meat’ below.
The Stockholm post-punk band are due to release the 11-track ‘Viagr Aboys’ on April 15 via their own newly launched label, Shrimptech Enterprises. You can pre-order/pre-save it here.

Co-produced by frequent collaborator Pelle Gunnerfeldt, the forthcoming record is said to channel the group’s “sharp observational humour and unique ability to dismantle everything and nothing at the same time, while juxtaposing real life with high art”.
This concept is also reflected in the cover artwork, created by Leo Park (see below).
‘Man Made of Meat’ serves as the first preview of the LP, digging into singer Sebastian Murphy’s experience cruising through Walmart supermarkets while touring the US with Queens Of The Stone Age.
Boasting a dirty, distorted bassline and spiky electric guitar riffs, the chaotic and existential song sees Murphy admit that he “subscribed to your mom’s OnlyFans” account, and poke fun at AI.
He also references the death of Friends actor Matthew Perry. “They watch TV,” Murphy sings. “They watch TV about a man named Chandler Bing who died in a freak hot tub accident…”
‘Man Made Of Meat’ culminates with a bleak yet honest and relatable confession: “I hate almost everything that I see, and I just wanna disappear.”
In the official video, directed by Daniel Björkman, Murphy falls down a black hole at this moment after being “uncancelled”. He portrays an “accidental artist” in the visuals, which were shot in a gallery.

Speaking about the video, Björkman explained: “Imagination is gone. Creativity is a concept. Stealing is caring. Theft is priceless. Money is a means to an end. Art is a lie. Computers are useless. Music is the ultimate teacher.
“Taste the enemy of creativity, and a better future. Artificial imagination is here. The world doesn’t make sense, so why should we make images that do?”
He continued: “[Prouction company] The Great Exhibition is a celebration of the unexpected. Our Ideas are designed to create memories. We playfully discover the unforgettable & remarkable in life.”

Speaking to NME at Reading Festival 2024, Viagra Boys said their new music would incorporate “a little bit of everything, hopefully”.
“We’re gonna see where it ends up,” Murphy explained. “I think there’s a little bit of all sorts of genres in there, hopefully – excluding maybe R&B and stuff like that. There’s a lot of rock.”
He continued: “We want people to not really expect what’s coming. And who knows? Maybe it does sound exactly like it has before, but in my head it doesn’t. Hopefully there are new sounds in there and we’ve definitely taken different approaches to songwriting.”
Later this year, Viagra Boys will embark on a UK and Ireland headline tour including a show at the O2 Academy Brixton in London. They have also confirmed dates in North America and Europe, and will appear at Coachella 2025. Find any remaining tickets here (UK/Ireland).

NME described Viagra Boys’ previous album, 2022’s ‘Cave World’, as “a grimy time capsule of a truly bizarre era” in a four-star review.
It added: “If the worst of times brings out the worst in people, Viagra Boys are set to be icons of the age, and ‘Cave World’ its defining document. As scientists prepare a time capsule of humanity for future species to find, it’s a shoo-in.”
