Record Store Day is celebrating its 18th anniversary on Saturday, April 12th, and this year’s event is sure to be special with the announcement of Post Malone as Record Store Day Ambassador.
“What an honor, I can’t believe I was chosen to be Record Store Day’s Ambassador for 2025,” the cross-genre star shared in a statement. “Record Store Day is so important and I really hope to do my part to keep it alive. We love hitting local shops when we’re on the road, seeing all the crazy artwork, the whole energy in a record store is just super inspiring. I feel at home.”
“It’s really an unexplainable feeling to hit up a shop and dig through crates, just see what grabs your eye. You can be looking for something super specific and end up finding something totally different. It’s the best. Keep supporting y’all and let’s keep records and these local shops going strong. Happy Record Store Day everybody!”
“I’m very excited about Ambassador ‘Posty,’” added Record Store Day co-founder Carrie Colliton. “Musically, he’s all over the place — just like record stores and their customers, especially some of the newest, youngest people to embrace their local brick-and-mortar spaces.”
Last year’s Record Store Day ambassadors were Paramore in the U.S. and Kate Bush in the U.K.
RSD is known for providing fans with exclusive physical releases from their favorite artists, and it’s traditional for the event ambassador to join in. 2025’s release lineup has not been announced, but it wouldn’t be crazy for fans to expect a Posty exclusive connected to his 2024 country album F-1 Trillion.
When F-1 Trillion released back in August, fans were surprised only hours later with F-1 Trillion: Long Bed; a special edition of the record featuring nine new solo tracks.
Record Store Day 2024 included limited vinyls from Elton John, Queen, Ringo Starr, Frank Zappa, Keane, Jessie Ware, Marianne Faithfull, and more.
