The Prodigy announce first US headline show since death of Keith Flint

The Prodigy have announced their first US headline show since the death of Keith Flint, due to take place in San Fransisco.

Taking place on April 14 at San Francisco’s The Warfield, the gig will be their first headline show in the United States since 2017.

The San Fransisco gig will happen while The Prodigy are in the US for Coachella, with the concert scheduled for the first weekend after the Californian festival. It will also be the first show the band is playing since the death of Keith Flint in 2019.

“We are buzzed to be playing live in the USA again,” the electronic music band wrote in an Instagram caption announcing the news. “We’ve always loved doing shows there.”

Tickets will go on sale for The Prodigy’s show on Wednesday, 22nd January at 10am PT, and you can sign up for first access to the pre-sale here.

In December 2024 the band went on their UK ‘Distrupra’ tour, stopping off at cities including Wolverhampton, London and Manchester.

Last year The Prodigy spoke to NME at Reading and Leeds Festival, where they were the first band to play on the new Chevron stage, about Flint’s passing and the future of the band. “After losing Keith we couldn’t even think or talk about the band,” they said. “I think it was two years after his death that me and Maxim started bringing it up. ‘Could we play live again? Did we even want to? Why? How?’ All that shit.

“We realised the only possible real way to know how we would feel was to do it: get back on stage and do a bunch of gigs. It was so hard to walk onto that stage without our brother, but we really felt the crowd with us. Those gigs were highly emotionally-charged but we came out the other end with our answer.”

In other The Prodigy news, the band will be headlining Boardmasters festival alongside RAYE,  London Grammar, and Nelly Furtado. Maribou StateWet LegFranz FerdinandKaiser ChiefsRizzle Kicks, and Natasha Bedingfield will also appear.

The Prodigy’s song ‘Firestarter’ appears in the new Sonic The Hedgehog 3 movie, which sees Keanu Reeves join the voice cast as Shadow The Hedgehog, who allies with mad scientist Ivo Robotnik and his grandfather Professor Gerald Robotnik against Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.
