Fans are enjoying a glimpse at Mark Wahlberg’s new look for upcoming action movie Flight Risk.

Images from the film emerged on X/Twitter via Discussing Film yesterday (January 15) and showed Wahlberg playing a character with a balding hairdo, unlike any the star has sported before. Unsurprisingly, it provoked some reactions from fans online.
One user wrote: “I am absolutely loving this bald Mark Wahlberg look. He looks more hilarious than ever.”
Another said “That’s quite the haircut they put on him”, and another joked about Wahlberg’s awards prospects: “Marky Mark going for the Oscar with that hairline”.

On X, Betsy Gorham pointed out how the marketing for Flight Risk has been keeping Wahlberg’s unexpected look a secret so far: “I love how all the posters and banner ads for this movie are concealing the fact Mark Wahlberg is bald on top in it.”

Rather than the balding look being created via prosthetics or make-up, from this video posted by Fandango, it appears that Wahlberg had his head shaved for real.

Wahlberg stars in Flight Risk alongside Michelle Dockery and Topher Grace as a pilot transporting an Air Marshal and fugitive across Alaska to a trial.
But as the trailer released earlier this month revealed, Wahlberg isn’t who he seems, and the trio get into some trouble whilst in the air. The star doesn’t often play a villain, and the explosive trailer left some fans surprised.
Last year, Wahlberg was reportedly sued by David Beckham over an £8.5million business dispute regarding the former’s fitness company F45 Training. Elsewhere, he’s also spoken about being “pissed off” about his character in the Martin Scorsese-directed, Oscar-winning The Departed.
