The last episode of the first season, titled The Real Good Guys, concluded the journey of four children finding their way home after getting lost in the galaxy following a major discovery on their home planet of At Attin.

In the concluding episode, space pirate Jod (Jude Law) took over At Attin after proving he couldn’t be trusted. It was also revealed that his Force abilities, hinted at in episode two, were as a result of training from a female Jedi connected to the Order 66 massacre from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of The Sith. However, despite being force sensitive, he is not a Jedi himself.

Jod also revealed his true plan, to take over At Attin by destroying the planet’s supervisor (voiced by Stephen Fry), who turned out to be an AI android. The heroic children foiled the plot, leaving some questions open for potential future series.

Fans were enthralled by the episode, with one taking to X (formerly Twitter) to say: “Nailed it! #SkeletonCrew sticks the landing with that final episode and solidifies this show as one of the greatest Disney Plus shows”.

Aside from the very end feeling a tad abrupt (could’ve used at least one more scene), the #SkeletonCrew finale was awesome. This show has been an absolute joy to watch and I hope this isn’t the last we see of these characters. pic.twitter.com/DhTGzGlxY8

Another speculated on what’s next for Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), who looks in awe at the New Republic fleet arriving on the planet in the closing moments of the show.

“Oh so Wim is definitely going to become a new republic pilot right” reads the theory, suggesting this first contact might inspire him to great things in the future.

One fan was moved by Law’s character during his vulnerable reveal. “Jod tragic backstory unlocked” they declared, with screenshots of Jod explaining what happened to him.

There has been no official announcement on the future of Skeleton Crew, but the adventures have been warmly embraced by those who have watched it.

NME’s five-star review described it as “Star Wars meets Stranger Things”, calling it: “the most polished take on Star Wars we’ve had in a long while”.
