It’s the highly anticipated announcement that many had not only speculated about but also patiently been waiting for: since his military discharge, BTS’s rapper and dance leader J-Hope has revealed his upcoming tour. What’s set to be, without a doubt, another landmark milestone in the artist’s career, the tour titled Hope On The Stage follows his hope persona from his debut in 2013 up until today.
BTS Chapter two, which is filled to the brim with solo albums from each member, was discussed during their annual festa dinner. It highlighted the need for each member to explore their own individual paths in order for them to keep a steady, healthy, and successful group path for the future. J-Hope officially kickstarted Chapter Two with his full-length album, Jack in the Box, in July 2022. The album surprised fans with the introduction to his alter ego Jack (or Jay.), leading to him headlining Chicago’s Lollapalooza—a first for any Korean solo artist.
Before his military enlistment, he achieved his own goal by collaborating with his idol, American rapper J. Cole, on Hope On the Street. In 2024 he kept the content coming with the album HOPE ON THE STREET VOL. 1, which was accompanied by a six-part docuseries, HOPE ON THE STREET, released worldwide on Prime Video. The docuseries celebrated his authentic musical expression and passion for dance. It took him across several cities to explore the history of dance and reflect on his own journey, both artistically and personally, from his early days in Gwangju to where he is today. Always focused on expanding his legacy, the upcoming tour will no doubt be of the highest calibre, especially for those who are familiar with his attention to detail.
The world tour will kick off with a three-day event in Seoul from February 28 to March 2 at the KSPO DOME. Tickets for all three days went on sale on January 14 and sold out within 60 minutes. As part of J-Hope’s first-ever solo world tour, HOPE ON THE STAGE, the North American leg will be included in a total of 31 shows across 15 cities worldwide, including Seoul (South Korea), Singapore (Singapore), Jakarta (Indonesia), Bangkok (Thailand), Osaka (Japan), and more. On top of this March will also see new music in a teaser released by BigHit titled Beginning of a New Dream.
