Turkish Darkwavers Ductape Find Beauty in Darkness With New Single “Blue Black”

Come take me where my mind belongs
My heart bleeds and the days are long
I’m bleeding, bleeding

Since their inception, Turkey’s Ductape has forged a thunderous storm of post-punk energy that both jolts and mesmerizes. Their approach is unapologetically bold: pounding, ominous basslines collide with snarling electric guitars, slicing through silence like a blade. It’s a cacophony that compels listeners to delve into the unsteady depths of the human psyche. With their thrilling interplay of tension and release, it feels as though their sound has been hammered on the anvil of rebellion, daring the brave to wander uncharted emotional depths. The result is a celebration of chaos and a purposeful dismantling of conventional boundaries.

Blue Black marks an electrifying new chapter for Ductape in 2025, a track that dances on the line between longing and liberation. Paradoxically combining the detached cool reminiscent of Lebanon Hanover with the raw passion of Selofan, the song aches for escape and renewal. Emotion-soaked vocals, intricate guitar lines, and the earthy rumble of bass swirl together in a ritualistic rhythm, propelled by drums that march with military precision.

Ductape breathes life into a sound that feels visceral and untamed. Haunted by memories and weighed down by a bleeding heart, Blue Black becomes a poignant plea for solace, an aching hope for a world where love might begin anew. It’s not all gloom, though; amidst the yearning lies a defiant undercurrent, a reminder that within pain often lies the seed of possibility. Equal parts lament and lifeline, the track pulses with raw humanity.

“This emotionally rich track holds a special place in our hearts, capturing the raw essence of vulnerability and resilience through its melodies and lyrics,’ says the band. Blue Black reflects on transformation and finding beauty within darkness. ‘Releasing this piece as our first step into the new year feels significant and symbolic,” they add.
