Today (January 13), IVE and Starship Entertainment unveiled the single ‘Rebel Heart’ ahead of the full release of ‘IVE Empathy’, the girl group’s third mini-album. The song was released alongside an accompanying music video at 6pm KST.

The label has described ‘Rebel Heart’ as “a portrayal of solidarity among rebels with different narratives” in a press release. “Through ‘Rebel Heart,’ IVE will once again present a new musical style born from their self-assurance,” it added.

‘IVE Empathy’ will be released in full on February 3. Aside from ‘Rebel Heart’, a full tracklist for the record has yet to be revealed at the time of publishing. Starship Entertainment has described it as the record embodiment of “the idea of emotional connection” in a press release.

‘IVE Empathy’ will also mark IVE’s first body of work in nine months. The six-piece last released their second mini-album ‘IVE Switch’ in April 2024, which featured title tracks ‘HEYA’ and ‘Accendio’.

In the time between releases, IVE have embarked and completed their first-ever world tour, titled ‘Show What I Have’. The band performed 37 concerts in total across 19 countries in regions such as Asia, US, Europe and South America. IVE also made their Lollapalooza debut last year.

In November 2024, IVE also teamed up with French DJ David Guetta to release the English-language single ‘Supernova Love’, which notably samples the late Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto’s single ‘Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence’ from the 1983 film of the same name.
