Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson has announced she is pregnant.
Nelson who originally left the girl group in 2020, took to Instagram tonight (January 12) to share the news with her boyfriend Zion Foster.
Alongside a picture of the couple, the singer hinted that she may be expecting twins as she wrote: “She’s eating for 3 now.”
The former Little Mix star joins her fellow ex-bandmates Perrie Edwards who previously became a mother after she had a son with footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in 2021.
Bandmate Leigh-Ann Pinnock also welcomed twins in the same year.
Nelson quit the girl group after reasoning that the band had taken a “toll” on her mental health. Though the girl group continued as a trio after her abscence, they announced they were taking a “little break” to focus on each member’s respective solo projects once their ‘Confetti’ tour ended in 2022.
Elsewhere, bandmate Jade Thirlwall recently shared her new single ‘IT Girl’.
It comes after she previously recalled her stint on The X Factor, saying she didn’t know anyone who came away from the show without “some sort of mental health issue”.
She also recently recalled feeling “scared” to open up about her Arab heritage when she was in Little Mix. JADE, who launched her solo career in 2024, has Egyptian and Yemeni ancestry from her mother’s side.
“I’d only ever seen negative stereotypes of Arab people in the press,” she said, “So I was scared to promote my heritage. I feel sad for my younger self that I could’ve been the representation I needed back then. I try to make up for that now.”
In other news, JADE’s ‘Angel Of My Dreams‘ recently came in at Number Five on NME‘s 50 Best Songs of 2024 list. “If there were a degree in pop music, then JADE is a star student,” the entry read. “From the eerie, distorted sample of Sandie Shaw’s ‘Puppet On A String’ to the frenzied, Xenomania-esque production, ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ is the work of a pop star who truly understands pop culture – and how to create a song that’s truly her own.”
JADE will appear at London’s All Points East supporting RAYE on Saturday August 23, alongside Tyla, Doechii and more. Visit here for tickets and more information.
