The Lumineers announce surprise, intimate London show for War Child

The Lumineers have shared details of a surprise, intimate show in London, with funds going to War Child. Find out the details below.

Announced today (January 10), the upcoming one-off show will be held at the Hoxton Hall in London later this month. Taking place on January 17, it will mark the US indie duo’s first show since announcing news of new album, ‘Automatic’ earlier this week.

For the upcoming gig, the band have teamed up with War Child, meaning that funds raised from the show will go towards helping children living in areas of conflict.

“We’re incredibly grateful to The Lumineers and their team for donating their time and talents to help raise money for us with what I’m sure will be a beautifully intimate show at Hoxton Hall and fans are in for a real treat,” Clare Sanders-Wright, Live Music Lead at War Child said in a new statement.

“No child should ever be a part of war, and with the past year being particularly dire, it means that much more to be supported in our work, both by The Lumineers and their team, and to everyone that donates,” Sanders-Wright continued. “Every penny raised helps us to provide desperately needed emergency aid, psychological support, education, and more for children caught in conflict zones around the world.”

Tickets for the special Hoxton Hall show will be available via a prize draw – visit here to purchase ballot entries for the chance to win a pair of tickets to the show. The ballot closes at 11:59pm on Tuesday (January 14) and winners will be informed 48 hours ahead of the show.

The intimate gig next week comes ahead of The Lumineers embarking on a UK and Ireland headline tour this May, which includes a show at The O2 in London. Find any remaining tickets here and check out a list of dates below.

The Lumineers’ 2025 UK and Ireland tour dates are:

MAY
22 – Cardiff Arena, Cardiff
24 – The O2, London
25 – AO Arena, Manchester
28 – Utilita Arena, Birmingham
29 – Hydro Arena, Glasgow
31 – St. Anne’s Park, Dublin

As previously mentioned, The Lumineers announced details of their upcoming fifth studio album ‘Automatic’ earlier this week, and previewed the LP with lead single ‘Same Old Song’.

Members Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites will share the 11-track record on February 14 via Dualtone – pre-order/pre-save here.

Following up on 2022’s ‘Brightside’, the band explained that the record “marks 20 years of songwriting” and is set to explore “some of the absurdities of the modern world, like the increasingly blurry line between what’s real and what’s not, and the variety of ways we numb ourselves while trying to combat both boredom and overstimulation.”

The string of new announcements comes in light of The Lumineers joining Bruce Springsteen and Zach Bryan last August for a live performance of ‘Revival’, from Bryan’s 2020 album ‘Elisabeth’.
