Italian Darkwavers Ash Code Debut Shadowy and Minimalist Video for “Living For The Sound”

In the strobe lights, we’re in trance
With the music pumping, the haze dims my sight
The lace kisses skin, your evil glance
Please take my body, merging in a dance

Defying complacency, Italian darkwavers Ash Code reemerge with renewed intensity in their hypnotic single, Living For The Sound. Ash Code’s artistry roams between mechanical beats and melodic urgency. Their hallmark tension surges beneath shimmering electronics, propelling us all into after-dark reverie: icy synths, bittersweet crooning, and sensuous undertones colour the track, sure to spark some passion along the goth club circuit.

The lyrics to Living For The Sound evoke a nocturnal escape, where strobe lights, pulsing music, and a haze of desire create an intoxicating trance. A seductive dance becomes a ritual, blending bodies and sound into a shared moment of fleeting euphoria. The night and its rhythms become a sanctuary, a place to lose oneself and embrace the primal connection between movement and music.

“We wrote this song right after spending a night at a local goth club,” says Claudia Nottebella. “In my mind, the strobe lights and pounding music blurred reality, bringing passion and creation together. I imagined a mix of sensual intimacy and the process of making music, connected to the idea of pregnancy, turning that night into the beginning of something new.”

“The video embraces a dark, minimalist aesthetic inspired by the 1980s,” says Alessandro Belluccio. The scene unfolds in a dimly lit room, where muted light and angular shadows dance in a restless interplay, capturing the essence of the track’s hypnotic rhythm. The geometry of light slicing through the darkness creates a visual language as evocative as the music itself, blending restraint with intrigue.

A sense of timelessness emerges in the lo-fi, shadowy video, tinged with a nostalgic undercurrent, as the minimalist setting magnifies the song’s mystique. The room, alive with shifting patterns, becomes a canvas where light and sound converge, inviting viewers to lose themselves in its spell. The simplicity of the visuals amplifies the depth of the track, turning the interplay of illumination and shadow into a powerful extension of the song’s emotional resonance.
