In November last year, Miller’s family shared that the 2014 album the rapper had recorded but never released prior to his untimely death in 2018 from an accidental overdose was finally being shared with the public, as was his wish.

That album was titled ‘Balloonerism’, and was “a project that was of great importance to Malcolm – to the extent that he commissioned artwork for it and discussions concerning when it should be released were had regularly, though ultimately ‘GO:OD AM’ and subsequent albums ended up taking precedence.”

‘Balloonerism’ will arrive on January 17, 11 years after it was “created around the time of the release of ‘Faces’”. The album is now available for pre-order.

Now, Mac Miller’s family has shared the tracklist for the upcoming release, which includes a feature from SZA on the second track ‘DJ’s Chord Organ’, as well as a rare appearance from his own alter-ego Delusional Thomas on the song ‘Transformations’. Additionally, the song ‘5 Dollar Pony Rides’ will be released later today (January 9) as the album’s first single.

Check out the complete track list for Mac Miller’s ‘Balloonerism’ below:

‘Tambourine Dream’
‘DJ’s Chord Organ’ ft. SZA
‘Do You Have A Destination’
‘5 Dollar Pony Rides’
‘Friendly Hallucinations’
‘Mrs. Deborah Downer’
‘Stoned’
‘Shangri-La’
‘Funny Papers’
‘Excelsior’
‘Transformations’ ft. Delusional Thomas
‘Manakins’
‘Rick’s Piano’
‘Tomorrow Will Never Know’

‘Balloonerism’ will mark the second posthumous album to be released by Miller’s estate following 2020’s ‘Circles‘.

In a four-star review of ‘Circles’, Will Lavin wrote for NME: “Overall, ’Circles’ is a very conflicting listen. It’s a high-quality project, but we lost Mac way too soon, and that’s hard to accept. So while it’s hard to listen to him talking about self-deterioration and how he spends far too much time in his own head, it’s a privilege to hear him share his inner most thoughts over a bed of sweeping, inventive sonics. This is the album Mac Miller was born to make.”
