There are a lot of questions about the official announcement of Nintendo’s successor to the Switch – so one fan has turned to tarot for answers.

There were plenty of rumours last year that Nintendo was gearing up to announce the Switch 2 and the company later confirmed the announcement would come before the end of the current financial year, which wraps up March 31. Not much is known about the console yet, apart from the fact it will be backwards compatible with current Switch games.
Wanting to get ahead of the speculation, one Nintendo fan has turned to tarot to discover when the Switch 2 will be announced. The mod of gaming forum FamiBoards did a reading and pulled the Five Of Swords (Reversed), the Nine Of Pentacles (Reversed) and the Four Of Wands. The first card reportedly represents the end of conflict, the second means undeserved rewards while the third card represents celebration, joy and surprise.
Tangerine Cookie went on to explain: “The themes of compromise and end of conflict signal that the big wait for the reveal is over. It’s time to move on from Switch 2 speculation to Switch 2 enjoyment.
“This generation has been super long and the theme of undeserved rewards clearly speaks of Nintendo still getting pretty good sales numbers with no new hardware. Soon, we will get to celebrate the reveal and launch of the Switch 2 with all the joy and surprises that come from the launch lineup.”

They went on to say that the same tarot deck “correctly predicted” the launch of Metroid Prime 4’s trailer. However, FamiBoard users have already nominated Tangerine Cookie’s prediction as “shitpost of the year”.
“It’s official, the subreddit has gone insane,” added one user in response to the prediction being shared on Reddit.
Earlier this week, it was reported that a series of leaked images confirmed what the Switch 2’s new controller would look like, which backed up an earlier leak about the new console being bigger and more powerful than the existing Switch.
In other news, hit PlayStation squad-shooter game Helldivers 2 is being turned into a film.
