Atari is teasing its new handheld, the Gamestation Go.
The iconic video game company dropped a teaser trailer for the Atari Gamestation Go, which is set to be revealed during CES2025.
Atari took to X, formerly Twitter, to showcase the device, which features a widescreen, D-pad, face, and shoulder buttons. It also has a Trak-Ball and Paddle on the left and a numeric Keypad on the right.
The Gamestation Go’s latest reveal is the final design of what Atari originally called the Gamestation Portable. The portable initially had a 2024 fourth-quarter release date and a $149 price tag, but this seems to be the final design, featuring some improvements to the original concept design.
As to what the Trak-Ball will be used for, presumably, it will once again be used to play classic retro games, like Centipede and Missile Command. The Paddle was used for games like Breakout, and the Keypad was used for Brain Games and Codebreaker.
Sticking with games, it will be safe to assume Gamestation Go will play retro games since Atari already has an extensive library from which to pull. Atari’s recent acquisition of the Intellivision brand also boasts more than 200 titles in its portfolio and trademarks.
We can expect the full reveal when CES2025 officially begins on January 7.
