Lily-Rose Depp has said she has no desire to be famous and will do everything she can to protect her privacy.

The actor, who is the daughter of Johnny Depp and French model-actress-singer Vanessa Paradis, has recently been put in the spotlight after starring in Robert Eggers‘ horror flick Nosferatu.
Despite the added attention, she opened up to The Daily Telegraph about the importance of preserving her anonymity in the industry.
She said: “Every job comes with a set of circumstances and this [fame] is kind of one of them. The importance to me has been to maintain a sense of, like, privacy and grounded-ness and to protect [what] really belongs to you.”

Depp continued: “People are interested in things that they shouldn’t necessarily be interested in and…the job of an actor is to go into a character and, like, melt into it – and make the audience believe you are this character.
“In order to do that, it’s important to protect a sense of anonymity – they’re not supposed to get to know ‘you’ that well, ‘cause you want them to believe you as other characters.”
Her latest comments come after she recently spoke about trying to find her own identity in Hollywood and how people want to see her fail.
“I feel like people have been ready to see me fail, in a way, since I was a kid. That has made me only want to work harder and prove people wrong. Not in a vindictive way at all, but just in a sense of, like, fuel to my fire,” she said at the time.
“I do want to prove that I’m a hard worker and I’m not here for anything else but to work hard. But Rob [Eggers, Nosferatu director] was one of my bucket list directors. I didn’t think I would get to work with him so soon, so early in my career.”
Addressing her nepo baby criticism, she added: “Both of my parents are these incredible artists and I have grown up with that.
“Respecting them both so much and what they do, and trying to find my own identity in this world, has been interesting when everybody’s thinking that you’re here for the wrong reasons or that you don’t deserve to be here. You either can sit there and cry about it and be like, ‘This isn’t fair!’ or you can be like, ‘OK, I’m just going to work really, really hard and do the best that I can.’”
Nosferatu was awarded three stars by NME which described the “bloody, beautiful vampire remake” as a bit “of an empty vessel”. It is out in US and UK cinemas now.
