On Christmas Day (December 25), South Korean television network SBS held its annual Gayo Daejeon festival, which featured special performances by some of the top K-pop acts. During this year’s show, second-generation girl group 2NE1 took the stage for a powerful performance of some of their most popular tracks.

The performance opened with the group singing the chorus of their 2014 single ‘Come Back Home’ offstage, before appearing to perform their debut single ‘Fire’. Later, the girl group got the crowd to sing along to ‘I Don’t Care’ and ‘Ugly’, before closing the performance with ‘I Am The Best’.

Back in July, YG Entertainment announced the reunion of 2NE1 to commemorate their 15th anniversary, eight years after the group disbanded in late 2016. The quartet then embarked on their ‘Welcome Back’ world tour, which kicked off with a three-day concert in Seoul in October.

The girl group are now halfway through the Asian leg of the tour, having just completed a two-night show at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The tour will resume in January 2025 in Bangkok, followed by shows in Kuala Lumpur, Taoyuan, Ho Chi Minh City and Macau through February.

In other K-pop news, Jennie has unveiled new details about her upcoming solo debut album, which she described as a “buffet” with “a little bit of everything for everyone”. She will likely be the third BLACKPINK member to release a solo album, following Rosé’s ‘rosie’ earlier this month and Lisa’s upcoming February album ‘Alter Ego’.
