There’s a popular joke that each year when December rolls around it’s time to defrost Mariah Carey, and this year Fortnite is actually doing it.

As reported by Forbes, a giant blue iceberg has been spotted in the middle of Fortnite‘s Chapter 6 Season 1 map, and it contains none other than singer Mariah Carey. Carey’s Fortnite debut is coming soon, although details on when exactly the ice will thaw aren’t known.
When Carey does eventually come out of the iceberg, she’ll be a non-player character that people can interact with, located between Brutal Boxcarts, Foxy Floodgate, and Seaport City.
The iceberg is part of Fortnite‘s winter event, Winterfest 2024. As per TechRadar, the event runs from December 20 to January 7 and will feature the return of Jonesy’s Cabin, a place where players can go to collect various daily rewards.
As well as in-game rewards, many US players are due a refund as the FTC is giving up to $72 million back to people affected by Fortnite‘s “dark patterns” and “counterintuitive, inconsistent, and confusing button configuration [which] led players to incur unwanted charges based on the press of a single button.” Players could be “charged while attempting to wake the game from sleep mode, while the game was in a loading screen, or by pressing an adjacent button while attempting simply to preview an item.” Players have until January 10 to claim a refund.
Carey recently made headlines for signing fellow singer Rihanna’s breast during a Christmastime show in Brooklyn. “Wow, this iconic. Mariah Carey is signing my tit, y’all”, Rihanna said. “Sign my tit because my man [A$AP Rocky] made me come and get this.”
In other news, ten-year anniversary Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt concert tour confirmed for 2025.
