Dacus took to social media last night (December 16) to announce the tour, which is being dubbed ‘An Evening with Lucy Dacus’. The run of shows currently lasts for only four dates in February. It is currently unclear if more dates will be added in the buildup to the tour’s kickoff.
Per Dacus, the tour will see her perform at “some museums and special places across the US”, and will see her play “mostly new songs” during the sets.
The US 2025 ‘An Evening with Lucy Dacus’ tour dates are:
FEBRUARY
18 – Brooklyn, NY – St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church
20 – Chicago, IL – Driehaus Museum
22 – San Francisco, CA – Legion of Honor
24 – Los Angeles, CA – Secret Location
Tickets to the tour are limited, and as such are being distributed by a lottery request system “to give everyone a fair chance”. The lottery is open now, and will close on Thursday (December 19) at 12pm ET. You can sign up here.
The tour announcement comes after Dacus performed – and debuted several new songs – a handful of short sets with her Boygenius bandmate Julien Baker in October.
The trio announced their hiatus at a secret show in LA. “We’re going away for the foreseeable future,” fans quoted them as saying. “This is our last show, and we’re feeling it.”
Back in December, Boygenius told NME that they liked the idea of the band’s future remaining “a surprise” after their debut LP ‘The Record’ was named our album of the year for 2023.
Baker continued: “I like having this band be something that, because it’s more ephemeral or whatever, it’s not concretely tied to one of us or a person we have to live in every day. It’s something we can revisit when we feel motivated to, or it’s a place we can retreat to. I like saving it as something sacred instead of feeling like I have to constantly grind on it.”
‘The Record’ earned Boygenius their first UK Number One album last April. In a five-star review, NME said the project was “the instant classic we were hoping for”.
