Also in her segment for the Christmas special, Gaga revealed she was a “headbanging” extra in an AC/DC video as a teenager. When Johnson first entered the car to join Gaga and Lowe, Gaga said: “You want to hear something funny? I was in [2000’s] ‘Stiff Upper Lip’ video.”
“I was 17 and I was an extra in the back and I was headbanging,” she continued, prompting fans to share screenshots of her brief appearance in the video on social media.
“And they were like, ‘Don’t headbang. We want it to be modern.’ And I was like, ‘No, I can’t. Like, there’s only one move that I can do.’”
Elsewhere in the Christmas special, Roan took on Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’, while Lipa tackled the Ronettes’ ‘Sleigh Ride’. Watch the trailer for A Carpool Karaoke Christmas below.
The special rounded off with Lowe joining Gaga on guitar for a cover of ‘Santa Claus Is Coming to Town’ which is set to be released independently as an audio track.
In other AC/DC-related news, the band announced dates for the North American leg of their ‘Power Up’ world tour. They will make stops at cities including Detroit, Vancouver and Tampa.
