Lady Gaga has covered the iconic Christmas hit ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’ with the help of Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

The pop icon was one of three guests on Apple TV’s A Carpool Karaoke Christmas, which dropped in a surprise release last night (December 15). Gaga joined Lowe alongside fellow guests Chappell Roan and Dua Lipa to perform festive classics as well as their own hits.
To round out her segment – which saw the singer be joined by AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson for a karaoke duet of the band’s 1979 hit ‘Highway To Hell’ and saw Gaga reveal that she was an extra in the band’s music video for ‘Stiff Upper Lip’ – she performed a jazz rock rendtion of the 1934 holiday classic ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’.
Gaga’s punchy, powerful soulful rendition sees her flex her exquisite vocals while Lowe shreds the song’s chords on guitar. Check out a clip of the performance below.

Elsewhere in the Christmas special, she performed Led Zeppelin’s ‘Black Dog’, and also touched on her more recent duet with Bruno Mars on ‘Die With A Smile‘, which she recorded in between sessions for her upcoming album, ‘LG7’.
The release of the holiday cover follows the release of her dramatic new single ‘Disease’ which served as the first taster of the singer’s highly anticipated new album. While little is known about the LP at time of writing, it has been dubbed as ‘LG7’ by fans and is expected to arrive next February.
‘Disease’ saw Lady Gaga make her return to pop. The track follows on from ‘Harlequin’ – a companion album to her film Joker: Folie à Deux.
As for her forthcoming record, she recently told Rolling Stone that ‘Disease‘ felt like “a way into the chaos of the album, which is kind of exercises in chaos – different sides of who I am as a person”
