‘Stranger Things’ wrap party photos are in – final scenes to shoot this week

Days before the final Stranger Things scenes are filmed this week, the cast celebrated with their wrap party on Saturday (December 14) – check out some photos from the evening below.

READ MORE: Here’s what we know about ‘Stranger Things’ season five

Long-term cast members including Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Mazzarro, Caleb McLaughlin, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Maya Hawke were all present, along with Amybeth McNulty, who had a bit-part role in season 4. Her character, Vickie, is thought to be more prominent this time around.

Fans have been expressing sadness that the show, which is ending with season 5, is almost over on social media, with one writing on X (Twitter): “The wrap party really is making it sink in that in less than a year Stranger Things will be over and idk how to handle that and I wish I had become a fan so much sooner? like this stupid fucking show has rewired my brain and I’m supposed to just move on?”

Fans did notice that Millie Bobby Brown, who has played Jane Hopper, or Eleven, in the drama since its 2016 debut, was seemingly absent from the festivities, with one account on X claiming that she was in New York City at the time.

The actress, who rose to fame as a 12-year-old when the show began in 2016, married Jake Bongiovi, the son of Jon Bon Jovi, in May 2024 and it’s been reported that she was spending time with his family over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Netflix revealed the episode titles for season 5 last month: The Crawl, The Vanishing Of, The Turnbow Trap, Sorcerer, Shock Jock, Escape From Camazotz, The Bridge and The Rightside Up.

While Netflix and Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers have largely kept their cards close to their chest in the lead-up to season 5’s release, we also know that the final season will be set in the autumn of 1987, a jump of about a year and a half from the previous season.

Matt Duffer told NME in 2022 that the fifth season will feel different from the others straight from the off. He explained: “Typically in the previous seasons, everything wraps up in a nice bow. Four and five are really [connected] together.

“[With five], there’ll be no wind-up time – like even this season, you get to experience the kids and what they’re going through in high school before things start to escalate. Then it gets crazier and crazier and crazier – that’s typically the trajectory. Five, you’re just going to be right in the middle of it so it’s going to feel very, very different.”

And, while this might be the final season of the main show, the Duffer Brothers have discussed plans for a spin-off. They told Variety in June 2022: “We do have an idea for a spin-off that we’re super excited about… but we haven’t told anyone the idea yet, much less written it.

“We think everyone – including Netflix – will be surprised when they hear the concept, because it’s very, very different. But somehow Finn Wolfhard – who is one crazy smart kid – correctly guessed what it was going to be about. But aside from Finn, no one else knows!”
