Jon Snow is back – not with a Game Of Thrones spinoff series, but in the video game Game Of Thrones: Kingsroad, which is out next year and released a new trailer last night (December 12). Watch it below.

In the trailer, shared during the Game Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, Snow – played in the HBO drama by Kit Harington – returns. The game centres on a new story that’s set during the events of the original series, and fans have voiced their opinions on the return of the iconic character.
“Bitch is that Jon Snow?” asked one fan on X/Twitter, while another said: “I will play Kingsroad if I can kiss Jon Snow,” and one of the more excited viewers wrote, “Game of the year right there.”
However, some weren’t impressed, with one writing, “I am not interested after they ruined the series finale,” and another saying, “After the shipwreck of the last two GoT seasons, and Martin saying that there might be no new books I am done with GoT.”
Somebody else said: “Seeing Kit Harington again really killed any possible enthusiasm.”

The game, which is described as a “blockbuster story-driven action-adventure RPG” allows you to play as a knight, sellsword, or assassin, with each one having its own unique skill sets. The rest of Westeros is busy with the War of the Five Kings, as seen on the show itself, but the player works to restore their house’s legacy.
You play as a bastard of House Tyre, a small house in the remote North, and you’ve been summoned by the house’s leader, Marrok Tyre, to defend your ancestral home.
As well as Snow, it looks as though you’ll cross paths with other characters you’ll recognize from the TV show – though without their original voices – including Jaime and Cersei Lannister and Varys.
Developer Netmarble said: “In Game Of Thrones: Kingsroad, you will embark on a journey to restore your house’s legacy, forging alliances through trials and betrayals while navigating a realm rife with intrigue, danger, and opportunity.
“The game’s original storyline expands on that of the legendary TV series, allowing you to forge your own path amidst the power struggles of noble houses and the looming threat of what lies beyond the Wall.”
In other Game Of Thrones news, author George R.R. Martin has said that he no longer knows if he’ll finish the remaining book that’s left to write in the series.
For a number of years, Martin has teased the book, The Winds Of Winter, but it’s not yet materialised. He told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month, “Unfortunately, I am 13 years late. Every time I say that, I think, ‘How could I be 13 years late?’ I don’t know, it happens a day at a time.
“But [Winds Of Winter] is still a priority. A lot of people are already writing obituaries for me: ‘Oh, he’ll never be finished!’ Maybe they’re right. I don’t know. I’m alive right now! I seem pretty vital!’”
